A young man bringing up his fish from the depth of the Key West waters....we all wonder what it could be!

Key West is one of the great fishing destinations on the planet, and a day on the water here can mean a cooler full of dinner or the fight of your life with something big. Aboard Colorado Blue, we fish reef, nearshore, backcountry, and offshore — wherever the fish are running and whatever you want to target. You tell us what you're after, and we'll chase it.

Here's the honest truth about fishing: we can just about always put you on fish — we just can't promise which ones. Some days the bite is on fire, some days it makes you work for it. But here's what we can guarantee: a captain who shows up ready to put in the effort, knows these waters, and is genuinely good company. If the fish cooperate, even better — but you'll have a great day on the water either way.

Choose Your Fishing

Key West gives you a lot of water to work with, and you'll pick the kind of fishing you want when you book. Each one fishes a little differently:

  • Reef Fishing — out to the reef line for snapper, grouper, and other great eating fish. This is the go-to for filling the cooler with dinner.

  • Nearshore & Backcountry — calmer, protected water closer to the islands. A great option when it's breezy offshore, and steady action with a mix of species.

  • Offshore & Deep Sea — the big-water run, trolling the blue for mahi, tuna, and other hard-fighting pelagics. Bigger fish, bigger fight. (Offshore trips run a little longer and farther, so they're priced a bit higher — you'll see the details when you book.)

Not sure which to pick? Tell us what you want out of the day — dinner, a fight, or a little of both — and we'll point you the right way.

What Makes a Day with Us Different

Fishing charters are a dime a dozen in Key West. What sets a great one apart isn't a secret spot — it's the people and the effort. Your captain shows up ready to work, knows where the fish have been holding, and reads the day to give you the best shot at them.

But here's the part we're proudest of: even on a slow bite, our trips are a good time. Good captain, good conversation, good atmosphere, and a comfortable boat under you. We've never had anyone come back to the dock wishing they'd stayed home — fish or no fish. That's the kind of day we run.

What's Included

Everything you need to fish — just bring your food and drinks:

  • All fishing gear — rods, reels, tackle, and bait, matched to the type of fishing you've chosen.

  • Licenses covered — your saltwater fishing license is taken care of, so there's nothing to buy.

  • The comforts of Colorado Blue — a real bathroom, freshwater shower, shade, water and ice, and a smooth, fast ride to the fishing grounds.

  • Your captain's local knowledge — the spots, the timing, and the read on the day's bite.

  • Fish cleaning — we'll clean and bag your catch so it's ready to cook.

Bring whatever food and drinks you'd like, and we'll keep them cold — right next to your catch, if the day goes your way.

Let's Go Fishing!

Whatever you want to chase — dinner on the reef or a big fight offshore — we'll put you on the water and give you a shot at it. Pick your trip, grab your crew, and let's get the lines wet.
